Life’s a Beach…at least with decor

During my lunch break yesterday, one of my good friends and I took an impromptu trip to the mall (not really that far-fetch if you really know me). While quickly perusing through our favorite stores, we made a bee-line into Pottery Barn. Although this store can be pretty pricey, they do have some select items that actually won’t break your pockets.

Since my friend is getting married this fall (on the beach), she pointed out the beautiful nautical tablescapes that were set up in the store. They definitely leaned more towards a rustic aesthetic, but I fell in love. So much so, I snapped a few pictures for inspiration. My favorite pieces were the large starfish and individual bottles of sparkling water at each seat. Gorg! Wouldn’t you love to be a guest at a festive beach-themed party like this? I sure would!

When entertaining at home, what are your favorite ways to decorate your table? What are your key items to make your tablescapes shine?

I love your blog Alexis!!! Super cute!!! I like to use candles and display items at different heights. I love to use white serving platters and square plates, they give a clean look annd makes the food the star of the show!

Hey Alexis a.k.a Ms. New Blogger 🙂
Currently I only have a vase with nice flowers on the dining room table. I really need to get better ideas on how to make it look better than what it is now.

Fresh flowers are lovely on a table! I like to get the good stems from the farmers market. Perhaps maybe adding a patterned table runner under the vase? That will surely jazz it up!

Love this blog Lex! I have recently been collecting lanterns, all shapes, sizes, colors and styles. I have only been putting candles in them until I saw these pictures. Thank you for such a great decorating idea!
