Travel Diaries: Bridgeport, CT

On the wave of winter storms, record-breaking blizzard conditions and frozen temps, I thought I would share a few photos from a trip to Bridgeport, CT. Sadly, my family traveled to Connecticut for my great grandfather’s funeral, but it was nice getting to spend time with some extended family. Later on that evening, everyone congregated in the lobby and the lounge area at the hotel, just chatting away. I got a little antsy and thought I would seek out a little adventure.

I grabbed my camera, asked my brother to accompany me and we took a stroll through downtown Bridgeport…in the snow. To be completely honest, it was freezing! I had my Uggs on, so I made it work. Keep in mind, I’m a beginner to this photography thing, but I love it. The vibrant graffiti/street art was so cool and creative–like seriously visually pleasing to the eye. Let me know what you guys think about the photos! Has anyone else been hit by the photography bug, like me?

Fun times in D.C. – Presidential Inauguration 2013

This past weekend I traveled with my family to Washington, D.C. for the Presidential Inauguration 2013 festivities. When I say I had an amazing time, that is no overstatement! The city was buzzing with friendly people, political banter, and numerous activities for all ages. You really have to visit this city multiple times because there is so much to do, it’s impossible to conquer everything in one weekend.  Although the temperature was borderline freezing, I absolutely LOVED being in the mix of such a historical event.

Have you been to Washington D.C.? If so, what are your favorite site-seeing spots to visit? If you haven’t been to D.C., would you consider going?

Here are some pics that I snapped with my handy-dandy iPhone over the weekend [and if you follow me on Instagram – lexofhearts – some of these may look familiar ; ) ]
